The adventure of a lifetime
Your trip starts in Moshi, before an early start to visit Lake Manyara. Set on the floor of The Great Rift Valley, this is a beautiful way to experience one of Tanzania’s less visited national parks. Tarangire National Park boasts the highest concentration of elephant found anywhere in the World and is a much quieter, less touristic park. Topping these two fantastic parks off with the Ngorongoro Crater, the largest pristine volcanic caldera in the world, is the perfect way to complete your three day adventure in the African wilderness, with a great chance of spotting the famed “Big Five”.
Zanzibar is made up of the main island, Unguja, and its sister island, Pemba. For centuries the islands have attracted seafarers and adventurers from around the world. Now it welcomes a new generation of explorers- those who have come to marvel at the rich heritage, reflected in the architecture and the culture of the people.
This is where Arabia meets the Africa. Visit Zanzibar’s historic Stone Town, where the Sultans once ruled. Relax on one of 25 dazzling white, palm-fringed beaches- where the azure water of the Indian Ocean beckon swimmers, divers, fishermen and water sports enthusiasts alike. Party till dawn at one the famous Full Moon beach parties. Breathe in the fragrant scents of cloves, vanilla, cardamom and nutmeg, and discover why Zanzibar is called the Spice Island!
This is the perfect place to kick back and relax for a week, losing yourself in the crystal clear waters or taking sunset strolls down white sandy beaches.
Arrive into Moshi. This vibrant town is the gateway to Kilimanjaro and the safari parks on Tanzania. We will have a short briefing before dinner.
Early morning, we will depart for Tarangire National Park in our comfortable, custom safari jeeps, complete with fridge for chilled drink and an extendable roof for game viewing. This national park is an endless vista of quintessential African savannah, and is home to northern Tanzania’s largest elephant herd, along with lions and giraffes. We will stop for a picnic lunch, where you can watch herds of buffalo, giraffes, zebra and gnus; and many species of monkey. We will then transfer to a comfortable safari camp for the evening, where dinner will be served overlooking the breathtaking Rift Valley.
After breakfast, we board the jeep once again, and drive to the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the largest density of lions in the world. The crater was formed by the collapse of a massive volcano over 2 million years ago, creating a natural basin and self-contained eco-system. The park is home to all Big Five game animals (elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard & rhinoceros), and the dense population gives you a great chance of spotting all 5. We will have a picnic lunch near to the hippo ponds, and after the game drive will transfer back to our safari camp.
Our final day of safari will be spent at Lake Manyara National Park. Here we will be welcomed by the sign which reads “Remove nothing from this Park except: Nourishment for the soul, Consolation for the heart, Inspiration for the mind”- advice we will most certainly heed. The park is home to huge herds of elephants, which can be seen bathing in streams and waterpools, along with many giraffes and baboons. The lake itself is home a multitude of flamingos, giving the impression that the lake itself is pink. After our game drive, we will transfer back to the hotel in Moshi.
We will catch a flight from Kilimanjaro International Airport to Zanzibar, before transferring to our beach resort.
Known as the Spice Island, Zanzibar is an island paradise, sitting 20 miles off the coast of mainland Tanzania. Here you are free to spend your days soaking up the sunshine on the beach; visit the beating heart of the islands, Stone Town; or take a dip in the clear blue Indian Ocean on a snorkelling or Scuba trip.
